Problem:
A seawater cooling pipe in a power plant was facing a leak at weld joint near the pipe flange. The pipeline cannot be shutdown for repair or replacement and SealXpert™ products were applied and the repair was completed successfully while the system is in operation.
Solution:
Firstly, the leak area was cleaned of any paint or loose debris from the pipe surface. Thereafter, Seal Stic™ Quick Cure Epoxy Stic was applied onto the leak area with the help of a sheet metal and SealXpert™ Stainless Steel Pipe Clip.
Once the Seal Stic™ Quick Cure Epoxy Stic was cured, SealXpert™ Repair Putty was applied onto the entire pipe circumference and flange area. Finally, the pipe was reinforced and strengthen with Wrap Seal PLUS™ Fiberglass Repair Tape. |
