Destination: Svilu Clothing, the Aisle of
Trajectory: A new fashion line anchored in sustainable design and dodging the ebb and flow of fleeting trends. Eco-conscious fabrics (Tencel, modal, organic cotton) and practices (digital versus screen printing to conserve water, ink, and electricity).
Points of interest: Pleated skirts and dresses printed with French fauvist painting-inspired sailboat motifs; navy skinny trousers, jackets, and sheaths.
At the helm: Marina Polo (a Central Saint Martins alum who interned for Vera Wang and designed for Peter Som) and Britt Cosgrove (who worked in P.R. for Prada and Hogan before sailing through a degree at Parsons).
In case of emergency: Hit the deck in the mustard yellow slim-cut Ocher trench. Its tailored pockets and cuff-friendly, tabbed sleeves layer just as beautifully over cutoffs as dockside cocktail ensembles.
It’s a shore thing.
