Monday through Friday, you work. Saturday, you brunch and bar hop. But Sunday activities never cease to stump you.
For inspiration, pick up a copy of Sundays Are for Lovers, fresh off the presses from publisher Lines & Shapes. Curated and conceptualized by art director/stylist Maria Vettese, it’s a charming collection of stories, photographs, and expressions of how indie artists, designers, photographers, and writers (selected by Vettese) spend their Sundays.
The book is divided into sections: eat, rest, laugh, and love. Molly Wizenberg of food blog Orangette writes about her hankering for cocktails and provides recipes for proof. Stylist Cheri Messerli’s dreamy Parisian photos will make you swoon, and Brooklyn-based designers Jackson, Johnston & Roe’s lighthearted photo shoot reminds us that the loveliest Sundays often include wine and friends.
Each artist completed prompts (“To me, Sunday means … ,” “If I didn’t do this, I would … ”), making the book extra personal. Read it on a Sunday. Or any day, for that matter.
