In an ideal world, your home would be outfitted in Sferra linens, vintage Eames furniture, and Keith Haring murals. Until that paycheck arrives though, you’re doomed to Modular Bland.
Or you can go to new online boutique Mydeco and refurbish with never-before-seen indie designs, priced $300 and under (with most hovering around the $40 mark), from up-and-coming British talents.
On our wish list: Surface pattern pro (and former UK New Designer of the Year award recipient) Abigail Borg’s muted digital floral wallpaper, Evthokia’s once-bitten bone china dishware, the amorous Kissing Rabbits picnic blanket from Anorak, and Welovekaoru’s Pretty Ugly paint-splattered teacups and saucers.
For fans of the aviary motif, there are Eskil Design’s Birch trays and chopping boards, Helen Minn’s printed pheasant cushion cover, and Shan Annabelle Valla’s porcelain finches. But it’s the well-priced uniqueness — eggcup castles, cardboard grandfather clocks, lamp shades depicting the human skeletal system — that makes us realize an ideal world’s not so out of reach.
