Whimsy specialist Emerson Fry (of EmersonMade craft fame) already had us twitterpated with her fanciful table runners and flower sashes, so we didn’t think it possible to fall any harder.
But with tomorrow’s launch of her debut clothing line, EM Collection, we’re seriously in deep. The New Hampshire-based designer’s sweet, vintage-inspired staples, made from cotton, tweed, and silk, effortlessly transition wardrobes from summer into fall.
We will fight you for high-waisted denim, navy-wash bells (good-bye, jeggings!), and a fluid Silk Dots blouse with a lengthy georgette necktie ribbon. But there are plenty of country-fresh frocks (we dig the faintly speckled Confetti Dot and pocketed Tiny Stars) to go around. Both are demurely innocent with wide scoop necklines, thin straps, nipped waists, and floaty, knee-skimming hemlines. For those anticipating cooler temps, the slightly shrunken 1960s wool tweed professor jacket smartly covers everything, from shifts to chambray.
The best part? Each item pairs perfectly with the linen bouquet necklaces, poppy pins, and dahlia clutches we’ve been ogling for so long.
